Dream & Fantasy - Selection from the KOGART Contemporary Art Collection

Kempinski Gallery

Date: 04/February/2014 - 05/May/2014

For the visual arts, often considered to be representative of reality, inner vision has always had a special significance. Since the second half of the 20th century, when Western culture started to move into a clearly visual age, science has had an increased interest in what we see and how we see it, and what artists see and make visible.

The so-called inner picture, a subjective, individual world that may seem familiar to all, but is not a straightforward representation of reality, has been an abiding concern of contemporary art. This selection from the KOGART Collection presents works of art that explore the notions of tale, dream, vision, imagination and remembering, giving a taste of the formal and conceptual diversity of contemporary art.
